You might want to rock up to your wedding on the back of a motorbike, get married barefoot on the beach, have a carnival-themed celebration or get married in your parents garden. Your ideal location might be a beautiful historic building or a traditional barn, it could be an outdoor wedding ceremony in a woodland or take place in a chic seaside hotel. You may want to dance down the aisle to your favourite song, include your children or your dog, or have that talented cousin of yours play the flute!
Your wedding can be traditional, quirky, intimate, wild, boho, hipster, classic, bohemian, vintage, magical, religious or non-religious...you get the idea.
A celebrant-led wedding ceremony offers freedom, versatility and uniqueness. The amazing thing about a celebrant-led ceremony is that you can have your ceremony anywhere and at any time (provided you have permission, of course!)
A church ceremony or civil ceremony with a registrar is what most people think of when it comes to weddings but having a celebrant officiate your union is growing in popularity. Couples like the fact that they can pick and choose their own theme, rituals, symbolism, music, readings and so forth. You don't just get whoever the registrar is on the day of your wedding, you get a celebrant who has got to know you well and created a ceremony that is just how you want it to be.
Your wedding or civil partnership ceremony can be wacky or intimate, gregarious or formal, traditional or modern. You can have a small, close-knit ceremony or invite half the village. You can include family members or even your pet spaniel! Everything about the ceremony is tailored around you as a couple and your own story, making it a truly magical and special moment that you will treasure for years to come.
I conduct both weddings and civil partnership ceremonies. As your celebrant, I will listen to your ideas, find out more about you both as individuals and as a couple and all your hopes and dreams not just for your BIG DAY, but for your future together. We will keep in regular contact in the run up to your special day and I will craft a ceremony that encapsulates your story, your journey so far and your commitments to one another. Ideally we will have a pre-celebration rehearsal to make sure that everything goes smoothly on the day.
As your wedding celebrant, I will work with you to plan and deliver a memorable and poignant ceremony that both you and your guests will love.
Here's what is included:
- Spend time getting to know you and your ideas, hopes and vision for your ceremony
- Meet with you (ideally in person, or online if this isn't possible) to get a feel for how you envision your ceremony
- Discuss any rituals or symbolism you might want to incorporate into your ceremony, such as a handfasting ceremony, unity candle or sand ceremony
- Write a ceremony script that is authentic, personal and unique to you both
- You will have the opportunity to read this beforehand and make any revisions that you want. If you need any help with writing your vows, I can also help you with this!
- Work with you to plan and deliver all aspects of the ceremony itself, such as format, readings, rituals and musical accompaniment
- Hold the space during the ceremony, bringing everyone together for that all important moment
- Be with you every step of the way until your big day
- Provide you with a Wedding Certificate to commemorate your day
Areas covered
I am based in East Sussex and cover most areas in the South East. If you would like to have your celebration outside of this area or on a Greek Island or on top of the Alps, I'm in!
Wedding Celebrancy Fees 2024
My fee is £650 for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies. A deposit of £325 is required to secure your date and me as your celebrant. The balance is due within 28 days of your celebration date. For celebrations further afield, please contact me for an individual quote.
